When he asked how far apart her contractions were, she shrugged. “I haven’t been timing them. I didn’t even know they were contractions until my water broke.” Rachel had thought they were Braxton Hicks or heartburn; she hadn’t thought that maybe they were, finally, the real deal. Or not finally since the babies needed a few more weeks. She was afraid that she was going into labor too soon and the babies would be born too premature. None of that truly mattered now, though. Whether she liked it or not, their boys were coming. With his help she was able to get off the toilet her feed padding on the towel that he had left to clean up the mess she had made. She nodded to his instructions, knowing that it did neither of them any good to panic or go crazy like she wanted to. “Right. Hospital.” If she wasn’t in labor right now, she would have thought his simulated breathing were funny but all she did was follow his lead. Together they changed her, her pajamas coming off in favor of a loose dress that would be coming back off once she was in the hospital and forced into those uncomfortable gowns. She managed to slip her swollen feet into some flip flops and grabbed their phones while he got her bag that had everything else they’d need for the next couple days. “You can call our parents once we’re at the hospital. I don’t want Daddy beating us and asking me at on of questions until I’m in a hospital bed.” She led the way out, slowly waddling to the front door. It was crazy to think that the next time she walked through the door, they’d (hopefully) have their sons with them.
Finn nods as he understands and bites his lip. “Okay em when the next one comes after that we will time and see how long the next one is after that one okay?” he says kissing her gently on the lips as he then watches her. When she was all cleaned up they made their way to the car before he nods when she told him to call their parents when they are in the hospital. “Okay babe will do.. I’ll call Kurt too, he told me to” he says nervously as he was really scared about what was going to happen. He just wanted their little boys to be here already. He then got in their car and he opens the door for her and lets her in slowly helping her of course, he then puts her bag in the back and then puts his seat belt on and helps her with hers. “Okay lets go have our boys!” he says with a little of excitement, 80 percent of him was scared, nervous and full of panic but 20 percent were full of excitement and happiness that he was going to be a father really soon and they would finally see their little boys. He knew as the night went on that percentage of panic and stuff would go down and he would be more happier once the babies were born and Rachel was safe. He began to drive quickly but carefully as they made their way to the hospital. “How you feeling now babe??”
"No, I don’t want ice cream.” As much as she knew hew as being helpful, she wasn’t in the mood or mindset for silly questions like food. She was more certain she was now, officially, in labor, looked like she had just peed herself and was still on the toilet. “Do you honestly think I missed?” she snapped before taking a few deep breaths. It wasn’t his fault that their sons had decided the middle of the night was the best time to start their journey into the world. When she felt calm enough, she gave him a look. “Sorry. I’ll save that for later when I’m almost ready for birth.” After another breath, she nodded. “My water broke and I think it’s a good time for us to get to the hospital.” In her mind, she had always planned for this to happen during the day and everything would be perfect and go smoothly. Obviously reality had other plans in store for her. “But first, can you help me up and maybe throw a towel on the floor? I can’t move.” She reached out her hands for him to help, wanting to get some different clothes on and to the hospital as soon as physically possible.
Finn bites his lip and knew by the way she was snapping at him the boys were on their way. He took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. He really was an idiot of course the babies were coming. “Babe its okay…look we need to get you to the hospital quickly okay? How long are your contractions apart?” he says softly as he comes over and held her hand trying not to panic but on the inside he was freaking out and trying to remember everything they had planned for this moment. He then started to clean the floor before he finally helped her up, he didn’t want her to fall on the big puddle of water. He then helped her into their room and picked out the clothes they had planned for her to wear. “Okay babe as soon as we get you dressed were going to the hospital and were going to have our boys….just stay calm and breath” he says nervously and starts to breath with her as he quickly tries to get her into her clothes but was obviously shaking from what was happening. He was freaking out and he was trying his best not to show it. After 5 minutes he finally got her dressed well good enough for the hospital. “Okay lets get your bag and lets go have our sons!” he says in a cheerful tone trying to stay positive.
With a bit more shifting, Rachel managed to get into a semi-comfortable position to get some sleep. Even though she felt like she was a small planet, she needed her rest, especially if the babies were to come sooner rather than later. About two hours after she fell asleep, she felt a strong cramp in her lower stomach. While she didn’t think much of it, she was irritated that it had woken her up. Next to her, Finn was peacefully asleep and she envied him. She felt pressure against her bladder and knew that she needed to go to the bathroom. Again. It took some effort, but she managed to get herself up without asking for her husband’s help. She knew she could, but he was sleeping so nice that she didn’t think she had to wake him up for just to help her pee. In the bathroom she did her business but when she moved to get up, she felt an extra gush of fluid that was definitely did not come from her bladder. Looking between her legs, she realized what had just happened and for a moment, she couldn’t move. Her water had just broke on the toilet in the middle of the night and oh. “Finn!” She was no longer against the idea of waking him up considering what had just happened. “Finn! Come into the bathroom now!”
Finn was in a peaceful sleep. He did feel bad that his wife was uncomfortable thought as she was carrying their unborn twins but he couldn’t help but sleep. Work had him so tired but he wishes he could do things to make Rachel more comfortable. He was now in a deep sleep before he feels Rachel move out of the bed, he knew she was doing her regular bathroom visit, she was doing them a lot now she was heavily pregnant. He then hears her calling him and he rubs his eyes and groans. “Rachel…….. I’m sleeping…” he mumbles cutely and tosses and turns before he hears her call again and he rubs his eyes and gets up. He remembered 2 nights ago she called him for ice-cream and he tired to get her some at 3 am in the morning he hoped it wasn’t her crazy cravings again. He walks in sleepily and then yawns before he sees his wife. “What’s wrong babe? You okay? Want ice-cream?” he says not fully awake and rubs his eyes before he sees the bathroom floor covered in water and he bites his lip and his eyes widen. “Holy shit its not what I think it is? Is it?” he says nervously and started to panic in his head but some of it was excitement too.
While his intentions were good, Rachel knew that he couldn’t always get the babies for her, especially if they were hungry because of their feedings. But she smiled and nodded because his offering meant a lot. Her head felt heavy as she nodded to the information of their parents coming up; she didn’t care when or how they got there as long as they came in time for the boys’ births. “Just you.” As much as she loved her dads and his parents, she really didn’t want anyone to see, well, anything extra. And that included the moments her sons came into the world. “Besides, the nurse said that if I deliver naturally, I can only have one other person in the room with me and I don’t want to choose between my dads. And if chose your mom, they’d think I was choosing her over them and no. That’s just something I’d like to avoid. They can wait in the waiting room with Kurt and then they can see the babies in the nursery when it’s time.” Plus, she’d undoubtedly be exhausted after and she knew she wouldn’t be in the mood to deal with anyone for a while. Her hand rubbed her stomach in an attempt to sooth herself to sleep though it wasn’t a good one. “I’m so tired,” she murmured as she looked over at him. “I’m ready for them to come.”
Finn smiled when she said just him and he nods as he understood why and then grins at her. “Yeah no problem babe I totally get it. I mean I hope its a natural birth I don’t want anything bad happening to you or the babies.” he says honestly holding her hand as he was in the back of his mind worried about the birth, he saw movies where things go wrong and it killed him if he ever thought that happening to Rachel or their boys. He then shakes his head out of that thought and then smiles at her softly. “Yeah i mean i can’t wait or that moment when they can see the babies in the nursery and everyone telling us how cute they are” he says grinning happily. “I just can’t wait to hold our little men!” he says grinning before he bites his lip as he could see she was getting sleepy. “Lets get some sleep now babe, you look really tired and you need your rest” he then kisses her head and lays back turning off the light. “I know me too. They will be here soon though” he says resting his hand on her stomach knowing he couldn’t cuddle her because she was too big. “If you have any problems just wake me up okay? Goodnight babe i love you!”
With just a few weeks left of her pregnancy, Rachel knew that things were going to be changing soon. The chances of her going full term with twins were really low, which meant that the bag was by the door, ready for the moment that she did go into labor. But, until that happened, she still had to live. And right now, living with two, almost full term humans attached to her stomach was not fun at all. Thankfully, she had Finn who was around most of the time. And when he wasn’t, Kurt was nice enough to come over to keep her company and help her out. Nighttime was slowly becoming her favorite time, if only for the rest since sleep wasn’t something she was getting a lot of. Her body seemed unable to find a comfortable position and she was lucky if she got a couple hours in a night. As she waddled into the bedroom, she nodded to what he said. “Definitely. I’m not getting much sleep, but at least I’m resting my body.” With some effort she managed to get into bed, fitting a pillow under her stomach as she tried to lay on her side. “As much as I’ve slightly enjoyed this pregnancy, can I say now that I hope I have them soon?” The weight was doing a number on her back and she didn’t think she had feet anymore since it had been months since she saw them. “When’s your mom coming up? The same time as my dads?”
Finn looks at her softly as he gets under the covers and nods at her as he hated that she wasn’t sleeping good he felt like it was his fault well it was but they wanted to have kids so it was okay. “I know babe but once the babies are born i promise i'll let you sleep as much as you want and i'll get the boys when they wake up early in the morning its only fair” he says kissing her cheek wanting to be the best father and Husband he could be. He then looks at her getting into her regular position to sleep now that she was heavily pregnant and nods. “Yeah I know babe, I think they will come soon, I’m excited! I just want to meet them” he says putting his hand on her stomach happily before he then thinks for a moment and then nods. “I think my mom and Burt are coming with your dads, they thought it would be handy if they all drive up together” He says as he kisses her cheek gently. “Do you know who you want in the room with you when you have the babies?” he says knowing she was a loud to have 2 people in with her, and he knew he was one.
Rachel was now 8 and a half months and knew that in 2 weeks their little Boys will be due. Finn was nervous, they finally bought a house but still hadn’t moved into it yet, they decided to do that when they babies were a few months old. They wanted to get settled as Parents first. He was excited too for the babies to come. He just couldn’t wait to see their little faces. He was also doing everything he could to fill Rachel’s crazy cravings and needs. One night she woke up at 3 am wanting ice-cream so Finn had to go get some ice-cream for her at that time. He would do anything for Rachel, she was his wife. He was now currently about to go to sleep as it was 11 pm and Rachel was getting more tired because of the weight of the babies now. He was tired too, he had been working not as much as he was on part-time now that Rachel was soon to her due date. When he was working though it was mostly training the football team or teaching the glee club. Finn then smiles as he sees Rachel walk over to their bedroom and he smiles at her. “I think these early nights are doing us good” He says watching her smiling at his wife thinking she was amazing for carrying their twin baby boys.
“I hope they don’t come early.” As anxious as she was to meet their boys, she was more than fine with them coming out at the last possible minute. Rachel was just so nervous and scared that she’d be a bad mother no matter what Finn was telling her. It didn’t help that he said he was scared too, but at least she knew she wasn’t alone. “We are the best team,” she agreed with a nod. That had always been true. Hearing him say that she’d be the best mom made her smile. “Thanks, Finn. I needed to hear that.” She turned to kiss him, soft and sweet. “I … I want to be the best mom. I want to give the babies everything they could ever want, you know? Give them everything we might not have gotten growing up.” She didn’t have a mom and his worked a lot to support him. They both had been deprived of something and she didn’t want that for their sons. She wanted them to have everything and more. “Even if I’m scared, it feels nice to have you here with me. You … you really do make me feel better.” She kissed him again before relaxing against their bed. “I’d be happy if I didn’t get any bigger, though I know that’s not going to be true. I feel like I gain 5 pounds every day.”
He bites his lip and then then nods. “I know babe…I kinda do and I kinda don’t..” he says not too sure but what he wanted most was for them to be safe and Rachel. That was all he cared about most. He then looks at her softly and kisses her cheek as he nods when she says they are the best team. “Team Finchel For the Win babe” he says lovingly and kisses her gently before he looks at her and nods. “You will be a great mom! The best believe me okay?” he says trying so much to convince her before he agrees. “Yeah I want to give them everything that we didn’t have when we grew up..i mean i never had a father and you never had a mom so we’re gonna give them both that, plus you know Kurt and your parents and my parents will spoil them” he laughs and then thinks about all the stuff they have received already and they are not even born yet. He then wraps his arms around her lovingly. “Well I’m glad I can do that I think it’s one of my magic tricks” he smirks and winks playfully before he nods. “Babe, you look amazing and I don’t think you will get bigger. i wish i could help you in that part”
Rachel didn’t know if the babies could hear – and recognize – Finn’s voice, or they just moved because she was naturally happier around him. Whatever the reason, it seemed the two just couldn’t be still when their dad spoke. “They hear you,” she said with a small laugh. Finn’s hand on her stomach ensured that he felt and she smiled back as he showed that he felt. “I can’t believe it,” she mused. “Less than two months. We’re going to be parents in that time.” Technically, they were already parents now, but it didn’t feel like it. It wouldn’t feel like it until she was holding a baby in her arms. “I’m scared,” she admitted lowly. “Just a little bit. I’m scared I’m not going to be a good mom, that I’m going to mess up, forget something … it’s hard not to be scared, you know?” She knew that, in the end, she’d end up doing everything right, but sometimes she just feared she’d mess up the babies’ lives. “You’ll love me even if I mess up, right? And the babies will too?”
Finn smiles softly and then grins as he then felt the babies kick and he grins to himself. “I really can’t wait til they are born its gonna be amazing to put a face on them” he says happily as he couldn’t wait to see their babies faces. He then looks at her and nods. “Yeah i know right and its gonna fly them 2 months plus they say twins do arrive earlier then expected” he says nervously as he knew he didn’t want that, he wanted everything to go perfectly. He then looks at her softly and then hears her say she was scared and he nods himself as he was scared too of course he was. “Me too…i mean im scared too your not alone okay, but the good thing is we can be scared together and we are gonna be a team me and you, we will be the best i know it” he says as he wanted to reassure her that everything will be okay. He then smiles softly and shakes his head. “Baby you wont mess up…and of coruse i will love you no matter what as will the babies you know that. You wont mess up! Your gonna be the best mom ever i promise” he says looking deep into her eyes, he meant every word.
“My husband had a long-short day?” Rachel knew that Finn was doing a lot for the school he was working for. Like their former teacher, he was the glee club director, plus involved in sports. He was doing a lot and the passion that he had for all the things he taught was something she loved about him. He was an amazing teacher/coach. “Glad I called you out of class then. Now you can rest with me.” When he sat on the bed she moved over to him, moving as close as she could though her belly prevented her from getting too close. Her arms wrapped around his frame and she rested her chin on his shoulder as she held him from behind. “The babies have been moving around more,” she told him. “They were moving around a lot earlier when Noah was yelling at the TV.” She let out a small laugh as she kissed his cheek. “They’re calm now but I bet if their Daddy talked to them, they might start moving again…”
He laughs and then nods. “Yeah a long short day does sound just about right” he says as he felt her wrap her arms him. He wraps his arms around her as best he could with her growing bump and then looks at her lovingly. “Yeah i am so happy…you know i love resting with you babe” he says honestly as he really did. He then looks at her lovingly as he felt her head on his shoulder and he grins at her before he laughs when she said the babies were moving a lot earlier when Puck was shouting at the TV. He then shakes his head and then rubs her stomach as he wanted the babies to move for him. “Did Uncle Puck scare you guys…don’t worry daddy is here” he says rubbing her bump gently and smiles. “I hope you guys are comfy in there, less then a month and a half you will be here and its gonna be so awesome, me and mommy can’t wait to see your cute little faces. We love you so much already” he says happily as he felt them kick and he grins softly as it was the best feeling ever.
